DESIGN WORK:

Capstone Project: LightPods Solar Light System
  • Researched withing the field of light to find an area of opportunity
  • Narrowed the scope of the project to focus on solar powered LED lighting
  • Evaluated features and specifications of competition and consulted with experts
  • Designed LightPods, a unique wireless solar powered home lighting system
Light and Shadow Project (January - May 2018)  
  • Created a luminaire out of a unique material, focused on the projection of light and shadow 
  • Experimented with light and shadow effects produced by rotating LEDs inside a Circular-Cell Polycarbonate shade controlled by Arduino
  • Performed a product costing analysis to determine the value of the lamp if mass-manufactured and sold, considering labor and development costs
Chess Project (October - November 2017 )
  • Collaborated with partner to create a unique take on the game of chess with original rules, board, and pieces 
  • Developed the design using Solidworks and Illustrator
  • Produced the board and pieces using laser-cut acrylic
  • Selected to be displayed in the Kanbar Campus Center
